Building Green, Buying Local - The Landover Project
Bryn Mawr, PA
We are very excited about our latest project, a gut-rehab of a wonderful 62 year old stone home in Bryn Mawr, PA that will be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Energy Star Certified. This certification was developed by the United States Green Building Council to promote environmental awareness amongst government agencies, architects, engineers, developers, and builders. The LEED
green building certification system is the national benchmark for the
design, construction, and operation of high-performance green
A little over a year ago we realized through our large client base, always family oriented, was becoming more concerned about the environment and the impact their homes have on our planet but uncertain how to proceed. Our idea for this home stemmed from their concern and our belief that it is better to “show” rather than “tell”.
Our team members have collaborated to produce a plan that will invigorate the neighborhood and provide long-term benefits to everyone. Included in our plan is a commitment to use all American made materials and products. We are a team of professionals with a proven track record of successfully realizing our goals.
Our goal for the home is to share the knowledge we will glean from this project with others—remodelers, builders, current and potential clients, professionals and our neighbors—through open houses, information seminars and fundraisers. We are designing this home to be durable, environmentally friendly, healthy and comfortable. This home will be cost effective to own as well as to operate. Below you will see some photos of the progress we have made. Please check back for the latest updates and pictures.
